Q & A

Q: What advice do you have for aspiring authors?

A: Prepare to work your rear end off! It's no different from any other career, except that most of what you will learn will be from trial and error, not in a classroom.
Study. A great place to start is Stephen King's book On Writing. Memorize it and apply the lessons. Then expand your knowledge by reading and practicing. It's a tough job that requires a lot of passion to make it work. If you've got that, I say Go For It!

Q: Are you inspired by other authors?

A: Of course! Some of my favorites have been Shakespeare, Jane Austin, Laurell K. Hamilton, Anne Rice, J. R. Ward, Stephen King... There's really too many to name. That's the great thing about the arts, we all learn from each other and inspire others. Musicians inspire writers, writers inspire actors, etc.

Q: What is your favorite part of being an author?

A: Getting to share my daydreams with readers. It's the greatest feeling in the world when a reader tells you how much they enjoyed going along for the ride or how they love a character as much as you do. It's almost magical.
Q: Will you answer questions for my report/essay/interview?

A: If you would like to interview me, you may contact me through the form on this site (see the contact section).

Q: Will you read my manuscript/book/short story?

A: I'm sorry, but no. If you're seeking publication, you really need your manuscript in the hands of someone who can do that for you. I suggest seeking out a writer's group if that isn't something you're ready for yet.

Q: Who is your agent?

A: Sandy Lu of the Perkins Agency.
